ERMES CubeSat 3U (Region Lazio Program)
The ERMES CubeSat 3U is a scientific nanosatellite. The CubeSat has been developed by IMT as result of a Regional program based on EU funding.
The ERMES Mission is a microbiological experiment for analysing the yeast metabolism in micro-gravity conditions. The payload is a micro-laboratory equipped with pumps, valves, sensors and electronic interfaces.
The pumps provide the water flow circulation (water and yeast mixture) while the sensors (temperature and oxygen pressure) give information about the yeast metabolism. The raw data are stored and sent to the ground station for the post processing.
The reference payload is stowed in IMT Laboratory for data correlation (Earth gravity condition vs microgravity). Comparison between flight and ground data highlights the possible dissimilarities.
